Editing The Armageddon Shadow

Editing Editing Editing Editing Editing Editing Editing Editing Know what I mean? The Armageddon Shadow is half completed and I have edited away 6,000 words, so novel is now down to 100,000 words but I am aiming for 95,000 as a final word count. The book has been through so many edits, it’s just not funny. This beast started at 132,000 words and contained two unneeded story lines, and yes they did tie in together at the end, but I figured they weren’t really needed and too many characters could be distracting. I sure didn’t want to put an Appendix in the back listing characters and background LOL. Oh well, back to the grind. Getting the words on paper

I promised a friend that I would write this last week, but I never got around to it. Sorry. I was and I still am busy. I am writing this while watching 3 news re: the Tongan ferry capsizing (sp). All right. Writing. People always have questions on the art of writing, the form of plotting and building characters. And there are hundreds of books and courses available to teach you how to write. I am not a fan of them, though I have a few of the books on my bookcase (writing horror / write a book in 60 days / writing thrillers) they all pretty much say the same thing, but I have gained an insight into the craft that I choose to devote my life to. My current WIP

Just a rough outline: Based in New Zealand. Wellington: Earthquake 9.0 strikes. CERN has secret LHC project running in New Zealand. Earthquake damages instruments. Portal explosion. Many people dead. Adam’s brother, Abdiel, exiled by God, returns. People he kills awaken as zombies with thoughts and a cunning awareness and sense of Army order. Adam befriends two teenagers and takes them under his wing as they search for a Civil Defence area — all are empty so far. He decides to travel into Wellington central and try to find a CD area there. Someone is following them. One night, he spots her stealing food and water. She runs. He lets her go.
