HELLO THERE!

True Story:
On New Years night, 2004, I was in bed a little after 5 AM and I was very close to sleep when I felt someone looking at me (this happened a lot when I lived in Japan — haunted house). I looked at the darkened room and saw a dark figure and when I concentrated on the finding the face to this figure, I saw a demon’s face. It was purple with red zig-zag markings. The eyes were dark and I think he was smiling at me, so I smiled back. There was no fear, which surprised me when I later analysed it. I rolled over in bed (can’t sleep when I’m being watched), pulled the blankets over my ears and drifted off to sleep.

I thought, ‘Who is that?’
And a word popped into my head: Mephistopheles.

Several months later, a demon dressed in battle armour hissed in my ear. I rolled away and I felt something tapping my shoulder.
I moved house 2 days later.

    Hey Lee (?)

Great blog and interesting website. I found your details after quite a bit of searching on the web for information about NZ Horror Authors. Your name was the only one I could find apart from a few marginal ‘horror’ genre authors, despite being great writers (in my opinion) like Ronald Hugh Morrieson etc. Anyway, I was hoping to find other authors intersted in writing horror in the Wellington Region for networking, workshopping etc. Do you know of any other authors (potential or otherwise) who might be interested in doing something like this? Anyway keep up the good work etc.

    Regards

Lee, I can’t get over you being a published author! That is just so friggin’ cool! Hell, I was the bookworm, and I ended up joining the bleedin’ Army, of all things.
I’ve actually got several novels wandering around in my brain, but I can’t seem to get them written, which I suppose makes me one of many.

Hey Mark, great to hear from you.

Was very surprised to see you entered the Army.

If you have the several novels still wandering around, I am in the process of starting up an non-profit organisation for writers, called A Thousand a Day.

    More details later
